Hi there

I'm one of the Kickstarter backers, and so was excited to get my hands on this beta version. Have been playing it quite a bit the last few days, it really seems very solid already. It seems like I've done most of what there is to do at the moment, and I can say that the game has a great feel to it, I was really getting into solving the mysteries. Am looking forward to next release :)

PS. Will future updates be compatible with older saves?

Hi!

Thanks for the good words :D

We are doing our best to keep the old saves backward compatible. But with the incoming Journal, your save might not make any sense if you did not unlock things in their usual order, but it will work! We are also going to allow skipping the beginning of the game, so it will be faster to restart the loop.

That sounds cool, good idea to be able to skip the intro part. I guess I could always make a save right at the General Store, and then start from there after each update :D

Will also be nice to have the journal working, things are extra mysterious without it.
I don't really see the point of keeping old saves

You're stuck at some point in the bêta as it is, right ?
I found 2 out of 4 "ghosts" and didn't find anything else so far
Unless the game will "unlock" itself in future updates ?

Even if this happens, I'd rather go with a fresh new save to prevent bugs

Especially if there's scripts order

It might add more trouble than solutions as of now ?

Plus, restarting isn't that long once you know where is what, I know because I did it ^^

Oh, I don't mind starting over, just was wondering if I might have to do that every week when there was a new update. I will start a fresh game once the final version is out of course :)

And yeah, seems like only two of the visions are available in this version, but they also stated that only about 30% of the full game was available here, so I'm sure there'll be lots more to see in the final version.

Both ways are good I guess.

Starting a new game with each update helps to see if there are new bugs on the whole build.

If you keep playing on an old save, it helps us to see if our update breaks something. This is useful because even when the full game is released, we will still update the game from time to time, so we need to make sure not to break save files.

There will ;)

Ah ok, I've also found 2 of the visions. Came here to see if there was more to see in the current version or if I'd gotten as far as I can (after 2,5h played) but it seems I have.

Has anyone managed to get the safe in the Lachance house open?

No, I wasnt able to get inside, and after the update the safe seemed to be disabled, atleast I could not interact with it on my old save. Maybe I'll go back and have another look at it :)

I just tried it and it worked. If you have GOG galaxy, the update should be live. If not, it should be updated soon ;)

Really wish I knew about this on Kickstarter but I've been bitten too many times with changes such as being promised offline / no steam / DRM free / direct download etc..... I am very wary backing software, I back physical things these days.

If I had seen this on KS I would have backed it though. :)
Have to agree,on first play, great immersive, fun. Graphics and sound are top notch. Narrator is quite good, too. It has some of the feel of the "The Long Dark" in that you must take care of yourself in the cold. If the rest is as good as this first bit, Kona should be quite a hit for those who like first person interactive mysteries.

Yeah, Kona has turned out really great as a Kickstarter, easy to tell that the team is very dedicated.
Thanks a lot everyone, we really appreciate :)

Everyone who bought the game, from our Kickstarter campaign until now, helped Kôna become what it is today, and we can't wait to deliver the full thing! :)
