I've seen this question asked for nVidia GPUs, but since I have an old ATI one, I didn't even bother try looking for solutions in those threads.

Like I said, it's not just with Kingpin; as it stands, I can't run *any* game made using id Tech 2, the exact same thing happens when I try launching Quake II, which I also own on GOG. No specific error messages, nothing, just your usual "The program has stopped working, Windows is looking for a solution" popup.

Here are my specs, just in case someone has a clue of how to help me solve this and I'll finally be able to play these games:

CPU: Pentium T4200 (2 CPUs) @2GHz
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series
RAM: 3GB
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

Thanks in advance for all help provided, happy gaming!

Hi,

Sounds like a driver problem. OPenGL support on ATI graphic cards had been an issue for a long time. You may search for a driver version with a good support of OpenGL features.
After a quick search, I've found this http://feedback.wildfiregames.com/report/opengl/device/Mobility%20Radeon%20HD%204500
As I don't have this graphic card, I can't check but at least this page gives a significant example of drivers possible issues.
Did you try with a standard demo version of Quake II or Kingpin? To check if it's an issue with the GOG version.
