Hi all right Im having the same problem as posted in other threads, the jerky framerate issue, its very bad in the opening cutscene but does get a little better once the game starts but its still unplayable. The sould is also jerky in the opening cutscene but if I hit Esc the sould is perfect.. I have a new pc as follows:
Dell Studio Hybrid/Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5750 Running @ 2.00GHz/3.00GB RAM/Vista 32-bit Operating System.
As you can see the Spec should be able to run this game no problem. I can run the game in any Resolution and its still the same, I do not have a Seperate GFX card but the on board chipset should run this game with ease. I have all the latest software and drivers, I have also tried many of the suggestions in the other threads and still nothing. I have e-mailed GOG but alas no reply to help me with this problem.
It seems like alot of people are having this problem so I do think we should be able to get some sort of refund or another free download from GOG.
Please help me sort this out as I know it was cheap to download but I have like others paid money and really would like to just play the game.
Many Thanks
Jamie
I'm not sure what you have tryed already so I will just post a couple of ideas I have.
First try using the windows compatibility modes, running it in xp mode, can't remember if you can put it in 16bit colours on vista but do so if you can.
Next try setting the game to run on a single core.
I'm not sure what graphics chipset you are using but if its intel onboard it may not support T&L which I have seen be a problem for some other games so you could try using http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/index.php
Many thanks I think the problem is maybe running on a dual core as I have a problem when I run Duke Nukem 3D with the HRP it just crashes all the time I think the Dual Core causes the problems.
Please can you tell me step by step how I can run Kingpin on a single core?
Thanks
Jamie
1. Run the game
2. when game is running Ctl-alt-del and bring up task manager
3. Find the kingpin process on the processes tab. It's probably called kingpin.exe or something similar.
4. Right click the process and set the affinity to Core0
5. close task manager and hopefully if this worked enjoy the game.
Hi guys right tried changing the game to run off one core and still no change, any more suggestions please?
