I'm looking to get Kingpin: Life of Crime off this site at some point. I own the original PC version on CD, but I can not getting running on my laptop. The frame rate is so awful the game is unplayable. I've played with the settings for hours, and I've never found a solution, but I'd love to play it. So, can anybody here tell me if the GOG version would be any different? Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Pugs
Mentioned it to another person, but just to check, are you using an integrated card of some sort? Kingpin does not run on any integrated chips like most Intel ones.

Yes, I am using an integrated Intel chipset. My state of mind though was that since GOG makes the game work on modern systems, maybe somewhere in that transition the game would work better on my chipset also. Take for example, the Gog version I have of Thief looks beautiful, but if I were to run it off the original disc, it'd look quite muddy and pixelated as I've experienced running games on here with the same type of graphics from about 1998 or 1999. It's just a thought, I guess I'm that desperate to play the game xD

Sadly the game just does not like Intel chipsets, I even had issues with that game back in the day on an older computer with an integrated chipset. The only thing I can think of that COULD make it work is run it with the nGlide Glide wrapper but I am not sure how well that thing will work on an integrated Intel chip.
