I’m on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit, everything is updated.

Trying to start the game clicking on the desktop icon only opens GOG Galaxy.
Clicking on “Play” in GOG Galaxy only makes the play button transparent, then I get the info “cloud saves synced”, and everything goes back to where it was in the beginning.

I tried to run the KingdomsAndCastles.exe directly in the game folder, but I only get the classic error message

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file...

Running it as administrator leads to the same error message, though.

Does anyone know why the game does not run for me?

I uninstalled and manually reinstalled the game. Now, clicking on the desktop icon directly gives me the Windows cannot access... error message. GOG Galaxy doesn’t get opened anymore. Still, if I try to start the game from Galaxy, I only get the info that cloud saves got synced.

I am having the same problem but on Mac. Whenever I click the play button in the GoG galaxy client the client crashed. When double clicking on the DMG file it says that it cannot be opened

A reply for both of you. Have you tried uninstalling both the game and GoG Galaxy? Also, are your games installed on a separate partition from the OS (like an external hard drive or something similar)?

I forgot to post that I got it working a few days ago.
Apparently, in my case it was a firewall problem.

Thanks for the reply, though.

It’s kind of frustrating to see that uninstalling and reinstalling Galaxy seems to be one of the run-off-the-mill solutions ;)
