I'm just wondering why is the Gog version released 2 weeks after the steam one. I didn't follow the developpement of the game and took interest in it recently, so sorry if there,s already an explanationto it.

When I pre-ordered it said the reason was the publishers decision.

Me, I'd wait a month to buy it on GOG over steam.

I too didn't realize it was going to release today on Steam. Normally I like to support GOG if a game is available on either platform.

I guess the only bright side is that the first big patch should be available by the time I'm playing KCD.

If you pre-ordered from GoG.com, you are going to want to refund before the game releases. GoG's return policy does not allow for refunding games because you changed your mind, they only allow for refunds if you are having technical issues and after you have worked with them to try and fix the technical issues.

But they do have a refund policy for refunding pre-orders before the game releases.

Refund policies doesn't overwrite local legislation, so what he can do depends on that too.

That said I'm satisfied with GOG (in no small part due to their anti-DRM policies), so I will keep my purchase and continue to buy everything possible here. I will however be cautious in the future with this developer/publisher, so no purchase whatsoever if they keep on doing this crap. They can keep their exclusivity schemes on consoles.

I got my money already back. Support was really kindly and fast.

I am sure the delay is due to the publisher's concern that the drm-free version will eat into sales due to piracy. They're not entirely wrong, either. So, they're releasing it in protected fashion first.

Be glad we're getting a DRM-free version at all!

I'm actually quite happy that Warhorse released it on GOG at least this way. It's still much better than what most publishers do, which is a GOG release date "never" or "when it's outdated".

I bought it here fully aware of the delay. Sure, I would prefer the same release date, but two weeks is no big deal. It should be long enough for bug fixes to arrive and short enough to keep the excitement up.

Will they update the gog version at the same time as steam?

Nobody know it, but we hope so ;) Sometimes we get updates a little bit later and sometimes the devs do not update a game at any time on gog.
