Hi,

Just bought Kingdom Come on GOG yesterday and everything's been running smoothly with the exception of the dialog scenes where player has no choice over how the dialogue runs. Not sure if I'm explaining it clearly so here's an example:

I just got to Talmberg, got fed, laid down and Lady Stephanie came to my room.

As soon as she entered some dialogue started how she thought about me and prayed (game at 50% speed - not only fps drop,just straight up waiting 1 min for her mouth animations to finish, while sound plays at regular speed).

Then in the middle of the dialogue I got to chose how to tell her the story of torching Skalitz and I got some options to choose from - game runs normally.

Then it went to her expalining about her husbands imprisonment etc - game again at 50% speed.

Then I got a cutscene where Henry had a nightmare about his parents' death - 100% speed, no problems

Then Sir Whatshisname wakes me up to tell me someone from Skalitz arrived - game at 50% speed.

I tried googling the problem but to no avail; everyone seems to be complaining about loading times but those are OK for me.

The only thing that seems to slightly help is alt+tab. After I tab back to the game the game runs normal for around a secound or two, then slows back to 50% again. So I basically spam alt+tab through and it's pretty bad experience so far.

I already updated my drivers (GeForce1070 Ti - driver ver. 430.86), and the game - ver. 1.9.0.379

Did anyone have a similar problem and found a solution?
Thanks in advance!
It sounds like it has nothing to do with the game but more like something on your system is bottlenecking, causing extreme slowdowns. Whit it could be is anybody's guess. Malware? Security suite (antivirus/firewall)? Windows update (yes, it can happen)? Some other task running, hogging system resources? If your rig is capable, the game should not do that under any circumstances.
Hickory,

Thanks for the reply. I thought that too, but it is curious that the only issue my system has with the game is predefined dialogue scenes, while combat scenes, horse riding runs smoothly...
Hello bargwo,

I don't know if you've found a solution for your problem but as I had the same problem then you and I don't see any solution to this problem here, I will give you what I've found.

On my side, it wasn't a problem with my system, everything was running smoothly ingame but as soon as I had a cutscene, FPS was dropping around 10.

The problem is because I have a G-Sync screen and it seems to be a problem with this game.

I've found this first solution was to create a user.cfg file in the root directory of the game with the following content :

r_VSync = 0
sys_MaxFPS = 60

Set the sys_MaxFPS value with the refresh rate you have with your screen (like 120, 144, ...).

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me so I've simply disable the G-Sync option in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

I hope it can help you
