Is it just me or are the loading times for this game incredibly (and very annoyingly) long?

I've tried starting the game using each of the _64.exes in the game folder to see if that would help and found that the CoreTech2_x64_11.exe is the one that loads the fastest but it still takes nigh on three minutes to load a saved game from the menu after the game has loaded. I've tried running the AutoSetup thinking that might help, I've adding the game to my virus exclusion zone but no, no change whatsoever :( Is there *anything* I can do to make load times quicker?

Btw, I'm running Win 7 64 bit and my specs exceed the recommended system requirements on the store page if that's any help in solving the problem. Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry, talking about King Arthur II

I can't speak for others, but I have been playing this for the past couple weeks with virtually no problems at all. I find the game itself, and all of the play elements load very quickly. That said, it may have to do with the system, or OS a player is using. My computer is fairly new....Win10 with an i5 processor, a GTX 1080 video card, with 16 GB ram. The only "issue" I have found is the reported very infrequent bug where a unit won't respond to an attack command, and I believe this is more of a pathing issue, because if I direct the unit to move to another area first, then attack, it generally solves the problem (the very few times it has happened to me, it has always involved a ranged unit, that apparently can't figure out that is has to move around a large obstacle or hill first, before it can get in range to attack.

I would definitely recommend contacting support if you can't resolve your issue with having the really long loading times though, and see if they can help. If not, you should be able to request a refund, because long loading times shouldn't be happening. Good Luck!

Thanks for your answer, it looks like it may be something to do with my specs then :( I won't request a refund as the game is (mostly!) fun when it eventually loads but will contact support to see if they have any suggestions to help reduce the loading time. Once again, thanks :)

I hope they can help you as well. I finished the Prologue (the Dead Legions DLC) and started the Main Campaign. I've been really enjoying it myself. If you never played the first King Arthur, you might want to pick that up sometime, and give a whirl also. That's right up there with my all time favorite games. Again, best of luck, hope support can help you get it sorted out! Hey, and btw, if they do, let us know, might help someone else later :)

The funny thing is the Prologue loaded nice and quickly with no problems, the issues only started when I began the Main Campaign.

I actually bought the first King Arthur ages ago, loaded it and got overwhelmed in the first battle and promptly uninstalled it. Now that I know what I'm doing, I'm looking forward to giving it another go :) It'll be interesting to see what the load times are like although I don't seem to remember being bothered so I am guessing it was OK.

And yes, I will report back here for future reference if support get it sorted.
Here is the promised update on slow loading times.

Support replied with the following suggestions;

"Unfortunately the game can take a long time when loading. Installing it on a faster drive should help.
Please make sure that your security software is not scanning in the background and slowing the loading process.
You could check if starting the game in "clean boot" mode makes a difference:

I'd already added the game to my virus exclusion with no joy, the new drive is not an option (no money!) so I tried the last option and the game loading time went down to 45 seconds. So a result - except it takes longer to do a clean boot than it does to wait the three minutes for the game to load! :D But at least there is a solution.

Anyway, hope this helps someone in the future if they have this problem.

That's something at least. Yeah, I have a new SSD drive, which may be the biggest reason it loads okay for me. Perhaps in the near future you'll be able to upgrade to one eventually. They are getting cheaper all the time. 45 seconds isn't too bad, but it would definitely be nicer if it were faster. Happy to hear to found something that helped a bit, and perhaps made it somewhat tolerable now? Anyway, happy gaming, and thanks for updating!
