Hi. Just reporting that it appears there's a bug with the second Orbitus level in the second Jazz 1 episode in that you have to get through a small gap with bouncing floors and walls, and if you do you just get bounced up back previously in the level and have to do it over again. Is this part actually possible to beat in this version? I've tried to abuse the slow-motion in the pause menu but it doesn't help.

Yes, Orbitus 2 is almost impassable in the GoG release, because the GoG release is Jazz 1.3. While it's possible to get through with slow-motion, that's still extremely hard. As a workaround, you can cheat for an airboard:
P, backspace, CSTRIKE. Enter again to lose the airboard.

There are at least 4 versions of Jazz 1. Orbitus 2 is near-impossible only in 1.3. Ideally, GoG could release 1.0 and 1.2 alongside this 1.3 release. For a comparison between the versions, see: www.lixgame.com/jazz/versions.html

I disagree, that would be silly. Ideally, GOG can just put the level file for Orbitus 2 from 1.0 or 1.2 into this version. Orbitus 2 being broken is a bug unique to 1.3, and was introduced by an oversight when the devs made a small change to the level file. Dropping in the 1.0 or 1.2 version of Orbitus 2 will fix it.

I believe the same goes for the missing airboard spots in Medivo and a few other levels.

Hello. Some time ago I made a fix for level 2 of Orbitus. You just have to copy the file to the installation directory of the game, replacing the existing one. Then let me know if it worked.
(View Attached image for more instructions)
Greetings.

Here is the direct link for the fix, just unzip it's contents into the game directory, im surprised this bug only happens in the CD version of the game, in the original 6 episode registered version you could do that level no problem

That causes sound effects to be high-pitched in that level, while maxstrike's fix works better.
This is reminding me of the version of Tubelectric where you can't get out of the first room because the spring is missing.
Thanks for the replies. I've now managed to get passed the area by using the CSTRIKE cheat. Hopefully GOG.com at some point makes an official fix.
I wouldn't say this is solved yet, not until a proper fix is in place from GOG/Epic Games.

I'm glad it worked. I hope GOG fixes the level officially. Greetings.
This reminds me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for DOS which the 3rd stage is impossible to complete without cheats. Which was fixed in the European version Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

Yeah you're right

here is the link maxstrike gave us, doesn't have the pitch issue

Also why the hell you guys on GoG think cheating is the perfect solution when maxstrike gave you the perfect file to include as a Patch?

OK. I've now sent an official support request surrounding this bug to GOG.com so hopefully it will get fixed.

djazz, this isn't solved at all. It's still broken. The fact that it was known to be broken before the GOG release doesn't change the fact that it's *broken*.
Thanks a lot maxstrike for this modified file!

I have hope that GOG's crew will consider adding it as part of GOG's release of Jazz 1 (if it's possible), it's indeed very irritating bug.
