The Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Collection contains a JJ2+-enabled version of The Secret Files as an optional download, which is super cool, but unfortunately this alternative installer doesn't install the original Jazz Jackrabbit 2 single player episodes. Would it be possible to include those in the package as well?

Hi,

Could you send us a Support ticket with all the things that are missing?

Thanks!
I have the same issue! The regular installer has all the episodes, bu the JJ2+ version only has The Secret Files.

Thanks, I've created a ticket with a list of files missing in the Plus release but available in the regular release.
The original game contained 4 (I think) episodes that are not contained here... This looks like it's just the Secret Files, which was something of a stand alone expansion, and the Christmas one.
I may be wrong because I not seen the GOG version but the CD version I have contains 2 CD: one for JJ2 and one for JJ2 The Secret Files. I have to install both in the same folder and all the episodes will be available.

Considering the comments here there is two versions on GOG: one is the normal, and one is the JJ2+. Doesn't it work if you install the normal one then install the JJ2+ version in the same folder?

Actually pretty much this, install Jazz 2 first, then JJ2+ and it works perfectly fine..

But yeah it could be confusing since they are technically two different installers. Best way to describe it would be like JJ2+ setup is just a patch of the Jazz 2 setup.

Hehe good to know because I thinking on buying the game here. I tried to install it from the mentioned CDs for nostalgic reasons but seemingly Win7 doesn't really like the idea. I guess the GOG installer is more compatible with the modern systems.
If you're using Galaxy like me, here's what works:

- Install game
- Disable auto-updates for it
- Download the JJ2+ installer from GOG and install it in the same folder
I'm curious as to why that would work, given the non JJ2+ version of the game is the LK Avalon release, which is explicitly incompatible with JJ2+.

Ja... it is weird that it worked.. but its because the jj2+ is already patched in. It doeant have to edit the exe.

So the short answer is they patched 1.24 from the secret files then pushed that into the setup for jj2+.
So it has nothing to do with hex editing as the original setup gor jj2+.

Since the files exchange when you install the version with JJ2+ it doesn't matter what the non JJ2+ version have. Only the episodes' map files required actually but it is easier to install the whole game over instead to copying the files from one folder to another.
There's a few easy ways to solve this. The easiest is to install the regular version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, then use the GOG installer for JJ2+ and install in the same directory of your first Jazz 2 installation.

If you want to have both versions installed for whatever reason, you can either copy over the missing files, or more easily edit the plus.ini file of your JJ2+ installation, and add the directory of your vanilla Jazz 2 installation to the line that says 'AdditionalFileFolders'.
Was this ever corrected?
