I've been playing the game and looking on the internet and gamefaqs for an answer to what skills in the game do. There is an idea of what they do but not entirely an explanation. I'm making my main char merc a stealth guy who mostly trails behind the enemy and then knocks out a few of their guys with upclose pistols and other close range guns. I've so far tried this and have not had much luck. I would sneak and it took up a lot of ap which allowed me to get nowhere, since by the time he was close to them, they were almost dead from other mercs.
I'd like to know if anyone has the information as to what all the skills do. I looked through the forums and couldnt find a main guide. Stealth is somewhat obvious, but there are other ones i have seen like-ambidextrous and nights ops that dont get explained. Night ops im guessing is your character performs better and can see better at night cause that makes sense.
However, ambidexterity doesnt lead me anywhere. Why would i want to wield 2 pistols, or even how do i wield. Does it cost less ap or something And give me more damage?
Either way, I just thought that it would be cool if each person that knows a skill should list what the skill or skills do so that other people can have an idea of how they want to build they're char. This is mostly the people that have already beaten/played the game to tenth degree. Thanks, and sorry if there already was a thread for this.

Ambidexterous combined with stealth is a nice little combo. 2 silenced sub machine guns!
Ambi - you get less accuracy penalty for having a gun in each hand (top and bottom slot). If you do this, then you fire both guns when you shoot.
Stealth is obvious as to its advantage, however it's no good combined with an assault. Once they know you're coming it's near useless. It is handy for taking out a few guards first, or as I quite enjoy - soloing with your IMP, slowly killing each person (requires a lot of reloads for me, there's just too many ways to screw up).
Others really speak for themselves - don't lockpick unless you have the lockpick skill. Electronics - you get to repair things like rocket rifles. Throwing - also good with stealth, allows you to use throwing knives, which if the enemy doesn't yet know you're on the map, may give an instant kill.
There are many walkthroughs on the web that give more detail as to what they do, and how to get them, but it's more fun finding out.
What about mechanical stuff. I get done with battles and my mechanic doesnt repair the weapons. Do you repair after battle or when you are sleeping.

Give a red tool kit to a merc with a good mechanical skill and stick them on repair. They will fix up the squads weapons and items first, then the rest of the items in the sector.

Only the carried items will be repaired, everything on the ground won't be.
Use repair when other mercs of the team are doctor/patient or training militia.
Not sure, but I think they repair their own items first, than the weapons and armor of other mercs and finally all other carried stuff that needs repair.
