Hello, the game runs slow under windows 10. What can i do ? Regards
Try the win7-10 compatibility fix from ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2_v1.13_data/GameDir/Docs/Windows%20Compatibility%20Fixes/
if you dont want to "risk" to dld from "unsafe" site find a link to the whole 1.13 sci here:
thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/index.php?t=msg&th=20380&goto=311288&#msg_311288,
dld and unpack the files from the archive.

What shall i download there 1.13 SCI? or
1.13 Builds
Pardon me if I did not explain it sufficiently.

1st of all, "Try" means I am not even sure whether mentioned fix will help with the original game
(which I assume you are talking about)
but the fix itself will not make irreversible. or at least hard to remove, changes,
like installing the whole 1.13 SCI (Single Click Installer) would do to a vanilla JA2 install.

So get win7-10 compatibility fix aka "Windows 7-10 fix.zip"
(note that earlier versions are named different, e.g. win8++ fix, win 8 & 10 fix, ... , but they do basically the same)
by pasting either "ja2svn.mooo.com/source/ja2_v1.13_data/GameDir/Docs/Windows%20Compatibility%20Fixes/" or
"thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/index.php?t=msg&th=20380&goto=311288&#msg_311288"
into the adress bar of your browser to download the file Windows 7-10 Fix.zip (~1MB),
respectively the SCI archive containing the fix (~370MB).
(You may have to override your browsers refusal to visit the "insecure" ja2svn.. page,
and also rename the "malicious" downloaded file *.crcdownload to *.zip, or use 7zip context meu "open" on it)
Now extract the file Windows 7-10 fix.zip, in the SCI its located in the \docs folder,
and follow the instructions in the readme file to apply the patch.
Get Stracciatella. It's the best way to play JA2 vanilla. Works flawlessly without installing anything extra.

Thats why i keep my old pc and win7 64buts until; it is +++++, i have to get a new setup with evil windozer 10, but i have to prepare to have lots of good old games not running on windozer 10 .... only new games ( of which many new games arent worth 1$ imho, cause lots of meh games have been released over the last 5 years )

Anyway, i replied cause my ja2 stopped working all of a sudden under w7 64 bits, it worked a charm but it seemed something messed up, and for reasons unknow rundll in the ugly WOW folder seems to be running at 25% of my quadcore which is a lot, i thought i had a seen a solution in this forum so i am looking for it now ....

thank you i will check the topic...

i uninstalled ja2 4 times , reininstalled again this afternoon.... check screenshot: a2rundll3263%.jpg
game exe is started but not active, doesnt show up in the taskbar , it does show up in the process list , and uses 0% CPU
rundll32.exe consumes 63% CPU ( and it increased i took a screenshot ( prtscr) button and closed the process.

total cpu usage was 93% that is way to high .....
it seems this happens once a year, usually after i had some windows updates, maybe M$ messed things up ( they are number one in messing things up) so maybe something in the socalled security updates might haved messed up things or disabled things.

I noticed the clcd16 and clcd32 i remeber these badgiuys to be present on the retail cd i own:

SafeDisc FAQs - WineHQ
https://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2002-April/007910.html

Apr 29, 2002 - The following files are present on SafeDisc 1 protected programs: secdrv.sys drvmgt.dll clcd16.dll clcd32.dll clokspl.exe dplayerx.dll (not ...

assuming the game was made DRM free, why the ... are the clockspel related dll present ? whatf if they were 'disabled' by m$? seems M$ disabled some ' drm' causing games to break, they did because of security :D
if M$ really cared about security at all, they should stop with windozer :D that is one major securit leak/ hole :D

Anyway, fact is only my all time favorite games have problems, other games i own ( usually inferrior new releases)
seem to run a charm.
Attachments:
update : installed the other Ja games( windows) and they have exact same problem....
maybe the M$ patches have messed up things again , they were "security" updates and they were recommended to be installed ....

Anyway pc had to shut down to protect from overheating, never happend before, until yesterday , might be M$ related
...
I had a different problem (screen flickering like a stroboscope), but the stracciatella launcher recomended a couple posts prior fixed that for me
Hi. Started JA2, but the lag is irritating (Win10, 64bit). Downloaded Stracciatella, and it seems to run oh so smoothly.

Now, how do I import the savegame from my game so that I can continue from it with Stracciatella? Please tell me there is a way?

Hi,

For backups of version 1.12, when launching Stracciatella (with the launcher), next to "game directory" on the right you have an option represented in an icon with "3 points".

Once clicked on it, there will be an option to search for a folder.

For example, my folder is in:

D:\GOG\ Jagged Alliance 2

Hopefully it will help you.

Yes, I know that, but that is just the game directory.

I mean the saved games -folder. The saved games are in a folder named Jagged Alliance 2/SavedGames, but I can't find the same folder under Stracciatella. I want to copy the save game from 1.12 to Stracciatella, because when I start Stracciatella, there are no saves so it must save them somewhere different. I started a game and made a save in Strat, but can't find where it made it.

In the "My Documents" folder there is another folder called "JA2", inside looks for a file "ja2.ini".

Opens this file with the notepad and indicates the correct path.

Normally the next time he starts, he will find your backups.

Thank you!

There was actually a folder "My Documents/JA2/SavedGames", where Stracciatella saves. No .ini, but this was even easier.

Copied my save from the Vanilla there, and everythings perfect!
