I am using Windows XP 64, and both games seem to freeze when the language selection comes up. Anyone have an idea how to resolve this? Thanks.

Not sure, but I do know you have to use the Number Pad to select the language. That could be your problem.

What if our laptop does not have a numberpad? I press the numbers above the letters and they don't seem to work. The only thing I can do is press random keys and it always plays the game in French.

Not sure what to tell you other than try the Function Key method if you have one on your laptop, or contact gog support and see if they have a solution.

I finally contacted gog supported, and despite their efforts it's impossible to run on a laptop without number pad or with other keys having a double function with the Fn key.

A pity, I couldn't finish Ishar 2 and was eager to try again :/

Hi all, I had the same problem (no numpad on my laptop) and I found the solution, which is what Igrok says: when DosBox is running, I remaped the key :
- press Crl-F1
- you will see a keyboard
- on the "virtual numpad" that you see on the screen, click on the touch in of numpad
- click on add
- press the touch "1" of the top left of your keboard
- now when you press this "1", it will make the event that the numpad 1 is considered as pressed
- repeat for 2 and 3, that should be enough
now that you press your keyboard's 1, that should work ; maybe you have to remap each time, or write something in the dosbox config
