I'm kind of stuck in the palace and I'm seeing a weird bug where the choir has left (after I released a prisoner), but they still prevent me from going up to the scaffolding around the statue. They're talking as though they are still there with no one in sight. At the same time I was getting other sudden bugs when I quit/reloaded to try again. The cursor is now perpetually at least double its normal size and stuck on a cursor I've not seen before and Evan has randomly resized (up to more than double his normal size). It all seems very bugged here and I don't know if I can continue the game from this state.

I have a different bug, but maybe related.
I have come out of the jail into the palace, went into the water filled passage and got stuck there. Save and load didn't help and Evan is still missing. I can observe items, but cannot go anywhere or interact with anything.

Is there a safe way to edit save files and go one step back? Perhaps decrement "<OPTION NAME="GameProgress">44</OPTION>". It might help with this and with thor84no's bug too.

Good Morning,

I've hit the same issue. Evan is missing, I can observe objects, however, I can't bring back Evan.

Did you find a solution to it? This looks like a game bug.

Randomly messing with the save files didn't change anything. I'm afraid we will have to wait for the developers to fix that. ps.: I am runnign it on Debian testing (Linux hostname 4.19.0-5-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.19.37-3 (2019-05-15) x86_64 GNU/Linux).
No solution so far. Where did you find the save files? I've checked the game install directory, My Documents, and GoG Galaxy Appdata. Can't find it anywhere.

Mine are in ~/.local/share/Artifex Mundi/Irony Curtain, but I guess that will be platform specific.
That seems to be the Linux equivalent of C:\Users\<name>\AppData\Local\Artifex Mundi\Irony Curtain, which does exist, but it only has an empty "logs" directory in it. I can find references to save files in the GoG Galaxy data which gives me paths like "game/Save_GameContent01.cub", but I can't find any such file. :(

Well... I've solved that conundrum. I gave up on using the slow Windows search tools and instead used GNU (thank you WSL) which actually found it based on filename in a reasonable time.

In case anyone else needs it; in Windows, the save location appears to be:

%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Artifex Mundi\Irony Curtain\save\game

This save file is also referenced from GoG Galaxy sync data in an SQLite3 db file:

%userprofile%\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\50591094117636588\Storage\Users\<random-numbers> \storage.db

This keeps track of the hashes of those files. Not sure if they'd need to updated or if GoG will handle that automatically.

In any case the save files I'm seeing are .cub files and are pretty garbled. I'll have to look to see if I can find an editor.

I found the bit you're referring to in the Profile_01.prf file. If I understand that file correctly, that's just details about how long you've played the game and a percentage progress to use for an indicator. I don't think that's the save file at all.

Hey,

the save file is stored in file Save_GameContent01.cub, however, looks data is stored inside a cub(e) container. It looks it is very binary and hard to easy fix (especially that Irony Curtain allows saving a game in the middle of dialogues).

I hope that devs will fix that soon. The game is really cool ;-), but this bug makes it unplayable, and I don't want to start it from scratch.
I got bored and I went through the game again. Here is the save folder just out of jail. Use at your own risk.
edit: too late, the link is dead, wait for an official patch

Thank you so much! It works.
Gosh,

this release is really buggy. Now, I can't trash photo in a bin ;-).

Yes, it is similar to the password board outside the palace. You need to step around and find a place that works. I think they must have run out of time and the palace area wasn't debugged as the rest of the game.

I have the same bug on Windows and hope we will see a patch about this issue, soon.

I hit the same too. Generally, I had to start 3 or 4 times from ratiafak's save, because of bugs in the palace chapter.
