Will I like this? It's an old game and maybe people don't remember it, but it was described at the time as a RTS game, when in reality it was a real time tactical game. There was no resource gathering or base building: you had units and each one was valuable, because you'd only get reinforcements in very limited situations.

In a customer review here, I saw the phrase "each unit is valuable," and I didn't see much about resource management/base building, so I thought I'd search the forum and I didn't see anything.

If you played Myth, I was in GfH. We paid to chat.

It's a RTS game alright, just not involving resource gathering units. In most of the campaign missions you build your base and build your army. By controlling resource points (oil and iron) you get the resources in order to build your buildings and units.

In some missions (I'd say once in every 3 or 4 missions) you only manage given units and have to rely on taking care of them, as well as on reinforcements.

Units gather experience, so there's always an emphasis put on extra care for the experienced ones.

I'd compare the game mechanics to Company of Heroes series, very similar - and fun!

Thank you very much. Sounds like a game I'll pick up.

Another Myth fan! I never get over my addiction to Myth, thankfully there are literally tons of fantastic mods and total conversions. A fantastic game, never equalled by anything up to now. I'm still sad they destroyed Myth III (fortunately even there is an almost complete total conversion of Myth 2 which gives a much better experience).
