This game will not run on my rig, despite meeting and surpassing all system requirements. In fact, I have yet to boot it as far as the main menu before it either crashes from trying to allocate too much system and/or video memory, even when it's the only application attempting to make use of them. (It could just be me, but I somehow feel that when the main menu alone balloons up to well over a gig of RAM--before crashing--there's probably something horribly wrong going on.)

I'd like to at least give the game the benefit of the doubt before writing it off as yet another lemon and waste of money. Is there a workaround in place (or at least a patch incoming) to repair some of the... glaring inefficiencies of InFlux?

My specs, for the record:
Windows XP 32-bit
4 GB RAM
NVidia GTS 250

I echo your sentiments!
My specs are similar to yours.

I had to drop settings down to medium and play at 720p for it to not be a slideshow.

I can run other newer Unreal Engine games fairly well, but not Influx. It feels like it was never optimized.
I have no idea what your difficulty might be. My system specs are roughly as follows:

- AMD Athlon-64 X2, 2.2 GHz
- WinXP 32-bit
- 2 GiB RAM
- NVIDIA GTX-285, 1 GiB RAM

I've been playing at 1920x1080 full-screen and, while it gets somewhat choppy, it's been playable.
