I get them after each mission and for achievements apparently; where/how to spend them on what?

Hi anothername!
Star Credits are used to power Super Armor in each mission. You can only use Super Armor a maximum number of times for each difficulty level, but using it consumes Star Credits.

edit: You should ask Judas, Konrad or another from gog staff for the gold dev colors. They usually haunt the general forums more than the subforums.
