So What is This Game? From the Designer...
HI, I'm Dexter, the lead designer of Infinium Strike. We are getting a few questions on what is this game play like and some think it is a shooter from the video or because we call it a strategy action game. It is not a shooter, you do not control the ship. You just control which weapons to utilize on the ship and in what direction.

Here is our description:

It is a strategy/action starship TD game. There are a lot of tactics on which towers to use, when, and in which of the 4 quadrants. However, we wanted to do a unique game experience, so in creating the starship defense game, we wanted the game play to be more than dropping towers, upgrading them and selling them...,it was our testers who were telling us it feels like an action game or an arcade style game because you need to manage 3 systems: towers, ships and special tech...and at times, you need to be quick about it.

So there are 4 levels of difficulty in the campaign and you can play the basic campaign in easy mode (recruit mode). It is much slower and relaxing like other tower defense games, but normal mode (captain mode) and the higher campaiign levels (commander and admiral modes) get progressively faster action...

For better players, you can play the Deep Space mode, it is arcade style game play with the same enemy pattern for everybody, to see who can top the leaderboards.

I hope this answers some questions about what the game is. Go ahead and download the demo to try it out for yourself, nobody has told us this product is a clone of anything they have played before...and that is definitely a goal of the team!

Thanks for the consideration.

Its a fun diversion :) I love that zooming out and spin around the whole Battlecarrier, watching it doing its lightshow in all directions.

Also: First day release; no bug seen, no crashed had yet. Everything ran flawless. It speaks volumes for you to go against the trend to release a bugged mess. Thank you for that :)

Thanks, We are glad you like the game. Tell your friends!
I downloaded Infinium Strike yesterday and loaded it up. I have a quite competent system Win 7 Pro, Nvidia Card etc. The install was extremely clunky and stalled half way through on two occasions.. There are clear issues with the new Big Brother style GOG Galaxy which is another attempt to dictate to the p[layer every aspect of their game, from updates to version up to ultimate ownership and usability of the game itself. Reminiscent of the five odd years it took Valve and Steam to get there product barely usable only to have lost millions of fans and end users. Counter Strike anyone?

After getting the Install Package to actually instal the game, the load time is seriously clunky, extremely slow, minutes even, and as the game starts on the Tutorial. the audio is out of sync and begins during the banner loading screen. I then get an error saying program can't switch resolution to 1920 x 1200 which is both native to my monitor and the current NVidia setting as well.

This game is amateurish and fifteen years behind current standards, just judging by the issues so far.. I'm asking for a credit of my payment.

Sounds like sour grapes but I am a genuine admirer of GOG with a nice collection of stand alone classics which were outstanding value and bug free.
