I want to ask if it's somehow possible to use the original german voice and text files from my german CD Verison of the game to "patch" them into the GoG Version?

Anyone know if this is possible?
It works in other old games :/
It is Possible, as i don that years ago with another Version, but i cant remember how.
I still got my German Original and whant the german voices too.
I hope GOG will deliver the German version afterwards, like they did for Monkey Island 3.
I found an website where its possible to download an german language package, but i didnt know if the site is legal!

still have the german original from 1999, did the following to have the GOG version in german:

copied these files from 1999-resource folder to GOG-resource folder:
CD1.GOB
CD2.GOB
jonesopn.snm
jonesopn_3.snm
jonesopn_4.snm
jonesopn_5.snm
jonesopn_8.snm

first level worked without problems

So far it worked with the files copied from the discs themselves (files copied directly from disc without installing because instaling won't work)

I see, i copied them from my installed folder, I got the original somehow working in Win10, good to see that it also works from disc

BTW, the download above contains the same files, just double-checked it

It is enough to replace "CD1.GOB" and "CD2.GOB" as those seem to handle the texts and sounds ingame. But after that I can't change the controls in the game anymore. As soon as I open the settings, have a look at the key assignment and press back my game just quits.
I wanted to play in German + Controller with own settings but that does not seem to work unfortunately.

Edit: Nevermind, happens with the original files also.

That should be possible (legally). LEC shows as publisher for the german version, so it doesn't look like there are any copyright problems.

Back then I bought both germand and english, but I always prefered the english version.

Many thanks, works like a charm!

This will help me pass the time until gog officially puts up the German version.
Download site is down...DAMM
Digged out my ol Original. And now for some: " Was haben wir den da.........etwas Medizin" ;)
Does this include subtitles (really supertitles for this game)? I’m filling out this game’s page on PCGamingWiki, which is an english-language site, but also keeps track of localizations.
