Having finally gotten beyond the issues with flux.ini - I've spent the last week doing odds and sods within the game (mmm, piracy)

now I'm onto Act 2, running around the badlands to get more pilots and the game has started to randomly freeze on me and stop responding.

Nothing hardware wise has changed.

Anyone had similar/have any suggestions?
Those issues are mostly caused by overheating, other than that I wouldn't know.

heh - given that my machine barely climbs above 40 degrees at full tilt (and that's with something like BF3, Crysis 2, MWO, Eve) heat doesn't strike me as being the problem...
I don't know then.

The game has some bugs, like it crashes when going into Dagda for example

Hmm, I'd not had an issue with Dagda.

Just went for a hunt through the event logs, to see if anything there was going to give a point in the right direction.

WIndows event logs being their oh so useful source of info...

"The program loader.exe version 0.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.
Process ID: 11e4
Start Time: 01cdbdd46ce06ecf
Termination Time: 86
Application Path: D:\Independence War 2 - Edge of Chaos\bin\release\loader.exe
Report Id: "

So yeah, not a lot to go on, what I do see though is DWM entries (Desktop Window Manager) before hand.

A double entry every time, the first:

"A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (loader.exe)"

and then

"The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application"

As far as I can tell, loader has always been requesting the disable, can't see any particular correlation. Neither has there been any MS updates that have any bearing on DWM since the crashes started.
if you give this info to GOG support maybe they can help out.
