Right, back to mah favorite space sim for a long time. I remember having the custom Jafs mod before and it ran fine, cant remember the game version tho.

Heres the problem: I WANT to have his speech on, but it wont work.

Writing anything in the FLUX.ini wont work eighter. If someone has or can modify the original mod itself to have speech default ON and rest mod-default, please post it, i'd be in your debt.

Also, every time i start the game the custom-jafs mod is turned default off. Odd.

Is the game installed to the Program Files folder? If so then the mod may not work correctly as on modern OSes that folder has limited access, so it may not be able to write its configuration settings on first launch.

If that's the case then try installing the game to a different non-system folder instead.

I-War 2 was developed at a time when most games saved their config information and saved games in the game folder, instead of My Documents, or Documents and Settings. This can lead to issues on Modern OSes which don't allow programs to modify anything in the Program Files folder.
SOLVED:

Indeed, the saves and the REAL flux.ini is in a hidden folder in the "users" folder. Sneaky.
That's due to the WIndows 7 back compatibility feature, which re-directs program files folder changes to the users folder for old software.

It can be a bit dodgy which is why it's better to just install older games outside of the program files folder so you don't get the issues in the first place.
