I just bought Force Feedback joystick - Logitech Wingman Force.

They're really cheap these days.

Since it is my first FF Joystick, using it is quite new to me.

I've got two questions to seasoned FF users:

1. Is there any way to disengage force feedback jitter whenever speed of 750m/s is exceed on thursters? It really drives me crazy because I usually fly faster than lousy 750!

2. The Joystick works fine only on the first try of the game. When I play it, quit and start the game again, the joystick tends to 'freeze' in game until I restart the system. Is there any way to fix it? (it's not a big problem because it works every first time after the system start).

I don't know. haha - not very helpful

On #2, have you tried unplugging the stick and plugging it back in? Might have the same effect, as far as the stick and driver are concerned, as a reboot.

I tried that, didn't help.

Like I said, it's only minor nuisance. The bigger problem is to turn off the force feedback when flying faster than 750m/s.
I bet it's possible easly (probably tweaking with some txt files) but I don't know where and what.

ok for one i know this prob you cant use the forces on that stick with any modern OS IE: vista/win7/8 its cus windows wont support the forces driver so for the first 20 min it will work but then the stick goes dead till a sys restart only way too get this too stop is too turn off the force feedback in game now you wont have the cool forces but you wont lose the stick retention that is all i can't help you with on this matter there is no way too fix this unless you have the old driver disk and win XP in a duo boot

i have looked in too this because iv had this stick for years and there's still not a single FFB stick better then the SW FFB2 and it makes me sad too see how they wont make drivers for it anymore but they don't care its all about there Xbox now

all FFB sticks are affected with this

all FFB sticks in general have drivers issues with anything newer then win XP they dont make drivers for them there min support now Microsoft doesn't care about FFB support anymore and i don't know if any newer FFB sticks have been made for anything newer then win XP but anything that waz about a win XP year stick is on the software is now out of date and wont be updated for anything newer then win XP

some info on stuff about older FFB sticks and being up on min support, min support drivers sux let alone i cant adjust anything i dont even get too use the force's mine goes dead, others i hear get stuck looping a force

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/microsoft-sidewinder-forcefeedback-2-driver-for/4110ab51-e3f4-46e0-8aca-40cc4dbeb80d

and microsoft supported there FFB stick the longest some company's stop making drivers after 5 years

Actually the joystick works well with the game. I mean my Logitech Wingman FF.

I've found solutions to overcome both problems.

1st. - if you set your view to outside the cocpit you will not get FF jitter when excedenig 750m/s

2nd - whenever the joystick freezes I just alt+tab the game and swich back to it again.. that's it.

Not sure about other FF joysticks, I bet their working depends on the windows XP's setup as well..

if it works for you that's great news, but as i said all FFB sticks have probs for ones that stopped support drivers and now stuck useing the legacy drivers, legacy drivers just make your comp know whats pluged in and get it too work SoSo but i have seen and heard that most FFB sticks have big prob with doing FFB in legacy drivers

im not trying too start a fight, im trying too let most people know what they most likely don't know
and rather then have you waste your time like i have, i rather tell you what i found out
