Greetings.

This sounds like a throwback to old classic FPS gameplay from the early days of the genre with for example the Quake mod Rise of the Phoenix or STRAFE so I'm interested.
I do not like permadeath though so I need to know how the game handles this feature before I make up my mind about buying it.

Thanks for any answers.

When you die you lose everything except money and blueprints iirc. Money is needed to activate stuff on your skill tree and to reenter the pyramid where you died again.

GGGmanlives made a good review for this game that you should check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHe0OBDCY1Q

Of course there have been some patches out after this review appeared so some stuff mentioned in the video has been fixed, rebalanced etc.

Well, in early FPS games when you died you started the whole level over with JUST your starting weapon(s) and no keys or armor or anything else.

That have never been a real problem for me. It has always felt like a setback and nothing permanent because those things usually wasn't all that hard to find again.

When they say it got RPG elements though and I risk losing skills progress it gets too hardcore for me.

it's not so harsh. It's like a mixture of Ziggurat and Killing room and it feels great.
You unlock skills and get better and better with each death, Then you have to unlock pyramids by reaching the top of them. Incredible fun and motivating. Not so HC.

EDIT: You DON'T lose your skills!

Thanks! That's the most important thing I think.
