Hello!

I have been having this problem with IWDII for a wee while, had resorted to playing it on my old WinXP 512mb Ram beast of a laptop, but wanted to get it running on my newer ones too with little success.

tried everything suggested by GoG forums and threads, nothing.

Then I did this (remembering an old bug with another game)

Go to the IWDII Directory.

Delete DDraw.dll (yes, I know, the mind rebels, but trust me).

My settings are: Compatibility mode: WinXP SP3. Run as Admin.

Config Settings: unlocked 1024x768, 32 Bit, full screen.

Worked first time.

Mate, you're da boss! Tried everything and only your solution worked! Thanx a lot!
The above worked for me so thanks for that snipped of info.
Yup. Worked for me too. Thanks.
Thanks this seems to work on Win 10 too! :)
Having played Torment: Tides of Numenera, I realized how much longer old infinity games were by comparison. So I thought I'd buy (again) my favourite, IWD2! :)
I tried it too but on Win7, and it's not working. If I launch the game, windows cursor responds for a while as it is loading, but then nothing. Even in the task manager there is no process IWD running. Tried to reinstall and verify... nothing.
Seems that I'd spend money for a game that doesn't even load.
Just tried this solution (Delete DDraw.dll ) on W10 Creators and it worked immediately

Thanks a lot for this :-)
