Playing the first Icewind Dale, there was a thing I could do to teleport to another map. I'd like to do that again so I don't have to walk back to Targos every time I have to resurrect someone.

The line ought to be CheatsDoProsper.MovetoArea(AR1103), but that doesn't work. I've tried capitalizing it every which way, with no joy. Who can help?

The command is GETYOURCHEATON, followed by a colon, so:

GETYOURCHEATON:MoveToArea(AR1103)
I thought you'd cracked it, but even using your exact text, all get is "Nice try cheater!"

Well, that's because you have to actually enable cheats first -- I assumed, since you were asking, that you already had. You need to add the following to your icewind.ini file, under [Game Options]:

Cheats=1
I put that in the "[Game Options]" section and get the dialog box upon pressing <CTRL> and <TAB>.

What do you mean, you get the dialog box? Please be more specific.
I mean I get a little box where I can enter text.

Yes, and... ? That is the console where you input the aforementioned cheat code. I thought you knew this. I am completely confused now...
As I said, I enter the cheat code and get the message, "Nice try cheater!"

No, that's what you said in the first place. What you said after I said to enable cheats was:
"I put that in the "[Game Options]" section and get the dialog box upon pressing <CTRL> and <TAB>."

Please copy/paste the entire contents of your icewind.ini here.
I don't see how what I said could be unclear. Here's icewind2.ini, although it hardly makes for an interesting post:

Icewind Dale 2 uses a different command: CTRLALTDELETE instead of CHEATERSDOPROSPER (Original Icewind Dale) or GETYOURCHEATON (Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter).

Using your example from post#1, try entering ctrlaltdelete:movetoarea(AR1103) at the console.

(On a side note: If you'd "tagged" youre thread with [IWD2], people would probably have been able to help you much faster. As it stands, your mention of 'Targos' is the only hint to let others know which game you're actually talking about.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Hickory was thrown off by the 'CheatsDoProsper' command from Icewind Dale 1 in the thread title.)

You speak the truth! This works. Many, many thanks.

There was a hint that I was discussing IWD2, because my first post mentioned “the first Icewind Dale.” I admit it would have been better to be explicit.

Are you crazy? You think that "Playing the first Icewind Dale" is a hint to playing the second? In the correct context it could have been, but you did not put it in the correct context -- your continued lack of detail did not help matters, either. Gule was absolutely correct, in that what you DID write threw me off completely. Next time, please state explicitly which game you are talking about.
Guess I must be crazy. Yes, I thought that if I spoke of “the first Icewind Dale” it was clear I was playing the second. I don't see how you can complain of the context. But I will be more obvious in future.

Incidentally, if you use movetoarea, you have to put the location code in quotes.
