Is anyone else having this problem, when I try to start a new game the game trys to open steam vr and then makes me do the steam vr set up even though I dont have my vr headset pluged in, If I then close steam vr it will close the game down. I have tried opening the game with steam completely closed but it still launches steam vr.

does anyone have a solution to this?

guess your best solution is to uninstall steam VR completely before you start the game.

Have you tried turning off the setting in Steam VR "Start SteamVR when an application starts"? (see attached image)

Yeh that was something i tried earlier today but it still tries to launch steam vr somehow.

andreasaspenberg2: guess your best solution is to uninstall steam VR completely before you start the game.
i would do this but too many of my games require steam vr so that isnt an option. apreciate the ideas though

Damn, that sucks. What an obtrusive program! I hope you can find a solution, because that sounds really annoying to deal with :c

if steam VR have a driver, you could disable that driver from the control panel. then you can turn it on when you need it. windows might ask you to reboot though but, you do not have to reboot, it is only a suggestion from windows. if that does not work however, you should contact support.
