If you have problems with the game not starting, "aborting" from the Terminal, or missing sound, a new project based on the Steam Runtime may solve your problem. Don't worry, it does NOT require Steam.

I created HuniePop-GOG-Layer because I was having these problems, it includes a bunch of .so files to satisfy the game's dependencies and hopefully solve problems, it did for me!
