Hi, I've been asking in these forums about the possibility of downloading custom levels/campaigns for Hotline Miami 2. Got a reply from GOG support kindly telling me it won't be possible, since most of the community-made content is shared through Steam Workshop, and of course you'd need the Steam version of the game.

So, I've been searching a lot and collecting every level and campaign I could find, and I'm sharing them with you fellow GOG customers, for use in this DRM-free version of Hotline Miami 2.

Some of the maps, I got from fan sites directly (wikia, subreddits, and others) and the rest, I got in touch with the creators asking them to please share their work with an alternate (non-Steam) download link, most of them had no problem setting up a quick dropbox with the files.

So, here it is. Download this file: link outdated

Usage: Make sure that this folder exists on your PC (and if it doesn't, create it): /My Documents/My Games/HotlineMiami2/Levels/

Inside the Levels folder, uncompress the zip file (keeping folder structure, so that the Campaigns and Single folders are created right inside Levels).

Launch the game, go to Editor, and you should see at first the single levels, hit Escape and move left to select campaigns.

I hope you enjoy this awesome new content, please note that none of these maps were made by myself, credit belongs to their original authors. I added the Steam Workshop ID to each level folder (it's between square brackets), so that you can get more info about the levels you like, also some of them have (optional) music replacement mods that the authors link in those same workshop pages.

Have fun!

Thank you, also, shame to gog and the devs for tricking us into buying an "incomplete" version of the game.

I will think twice from now to buy new games from this site

If anything, this is vindication for gog. Big bad steam exploits its market share to try and take control of the modding scene by vendor lock-in through the workshop and gog's left playing catch-up.

E: OP, have you considered mirroring the archive on moddb or nexusmods? They're far more robust than a cyberlocker, especially one with a reputation such as theirs.

BIG UPDATE!!!

91 Campaigns
link outdated

243 Single Levels
link outdated

Check the first post for full instructions, just a quick reminder: make sure that this folder exists on your PC (and if it doesn't, create it): /My Documents/My Games/HotlineMiami2/Levels/ and uncompress these zipped files inside, keeping folder structure. Launch the game, go to Editor, and you should see at first the single levels, hit Escape and move left to select campaigns.

Huge thanks and respect to every mod and level author whose talented work is included in this compilation: Rob Salmon, Yossarian the Assyrian, TheCrossRoss, Plank and many, many others - you're the real heroes.

Enjoy this awesome community-made content that breathes new life into the masterpiece that is Hotline Miami. Feel free to share and mirror these files anywhere you wish.

Thanks for posting this, but I think there's something wrong with those two links. I keep getting the "too many redirects" message every time I try them. I've cleared my cookies as well.

Hi, just checked and I'm not getting that error at all, also my Mediafire account shows several downloads for each file, so I'm thinking the problem must be on your end.

Try these alternate links:

Single: link outdated
Campaigns: link outdated

If still unsuccessful, take a look at the possible solutions posted here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/YzvpLaOmVrY (or get a portable version of a different browser just to download this, then discard it)

I didn't even notice this thread.
Quite related to my old one:
https://www.gog.com/forum/hotline_miami_series/which_are_the_best_user_created_levels_for_hotline_miami_2

Thank you very much for your work, I'll try it with the Linux version soon.
Linux:
Ok, so I've extracted the contents of the zips to
/home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/Levels
Which is the Linux equivalent of
/My Documents/My Games/HotlineMiami2/Levels/
When I enter the game and the editor, I see two options "Campaigns" and "Single" as expected.
I can also switch to "Campaigns" without any problem.

The problem being, that both options don't show any levels.

Any ideas?

Hi, I'm sorry but I can't help you with that, never tried Linux.

I'll just mention something in case you've missed the obvious (which seems unlikely): have you checked that when extracting the zipped files, you didn't happen to create two nested directories? For example: /home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/Levels/Single/Single/(content here) instead of what would be correct: /home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/Levels/Single/(content here)

Another idea: I've read somewhere that in the Steam version you can hit the TAB key and it will show you either downloaded or local files for each category (Single or Campaigns). Don't think it's an option in GOG version, but still maybe wanna try that?

Good luck and please keep us posted.

I found the problem with the trial and error method.
It wasn't about the files location but about case sensitivity.

In Linux, it's important the the folder structure is
/home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/Levels/campaigns
/home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/Levels/single

It won't work with
/home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/levels/campaigns
/home/.local/share/HotlineMiami2/Levels/Campaigns

So yeah, Levels has to be with a capital L and the others need to be lower case.
Heh, quite the valiant effort. I don't own the game myself, but I commend you for making this easier for the people who do.
