I'd like to find out how hard combat is in Horizon Zero Dawn. I'm decent at best when it comes to combat. And over the years I've bought highly rated games that I couldn't finish due to difficult combat (e.g. Senua's Sacrifice Hellblade, FEAR, ). I've completed many games using cheats occasionally (e.g. Jade Empire, Half Life 2, DOOM 3, Rage, System Shock 2, We Happy Few, etc.). So if the combat is difficult, does the game have any cheat codes (e.g. god, notarget, etc.)?

Thanks,
Craig

The game has a difficulty setting. Just pick the one you're comfortable with.

Check out the "Story" difficulty setting: https://horizon.fandom.com/wiki/Difficulty

You don't really need cheats after that.

I have played so many 3D shooters/RPGs that I'm simply bored by combat. If there is some storyline related combat it is fine, but always fighting random wolves/whatever is just a waste of time.

I therefore have turned to play most games on "story" mode. Just because I am only interested in the story. Since you are not grinding, the story battles against villains are usually still challenging. And that's just fine, because they are the only ones I'm actually interested in.

I totally agree, GR11. When I first started playing games in the late nineties the simple shooters were great, but it didn't take long for them to get boring. Half Life was the first game I encountered with any story. Then I discovered the Myst/Riven series. But the game that really got me hooked on story was System Shock 2. I've needed a good story in all my games ever since. And I always use Story Mode whenever it's available. :-)
