HTWingNut: On the other hand, I hear people say all the time that they'd rather pay a higher premium for games without DRM, yet here we are.
RSColonel_131st: This exactly.
I'm at the gamepoint where I got the "Override" skill, so pretty early, and already it's clear this is a total AAA grade title, maybe not Witcher 3, but damn near as good or better as any of the Far Crys or the latest Metro which I just finished.
To have such a title on GOG is a rare enough occasion, even though in the last years we are seeing more Day1 releases and bigger names.
I can't say how the PS4 version would compare with it's cheaper price, but to me this title looks and feels properly like a 2020 or maybe 2019 release. It's definitley worth a full price game purchase to me, especially seeing how it includes the DLC. And it comes when there are Corona Lockdowns and restrictions of outside world activities which couldn't be better timed.
That said, I purchase rather selectivley and are fortunate to be well employed in these funky crisis times, I can see how others would feel it a bit much.
My reason for paying full price was that the devs put in a great effort to make the game work on PC and its the best console to PC port i have ever played. Its like it was made for PC from day one. And as the devs work on it again, they deserve to be fairly compensated. So its not like they stoped working on it 3 years ago, they came back to work on it again just so PC players can enjoy the game as much as console players did. And they improved graphics for those that care about that.
