LtJamesWatts: I don't even know if I should see this as an insult or not.
What is your exact point with this statement towards my post?
Feel free to explain this in detail cause I would gladly like to hear that.

I'm not exactly sure how this could be read as insult?
It was always clear that companies would publish their games later or not at all as a DRM free, untracked version. Or charge larger sums for it.
But the great thing is that there is, meanwhile, lots of competition. Which means that also these companies will have to hold sales.

I was positively surprised when I learned this game came to PC. I'll gladly grab it once there is a sale!

SarahGabriella: What "creation"? Aloy is a default character. How about watching gameplay footage instead of relying on trailers? All trailers are simply to showcase how beautiful the game is, which it is. Im in awe.
The criticism is difficult to understand. Obviously, this is *not* "the same game released three years ago for the PS4." Obviously. It's been massively retooled for the PC-- & brought up to date for 2020--the new game was released in August 2020--as the GOG store page declares. There is new content throughout the new game. The screenshots are gorgeous--much better than the PS4 three years ago, without a doubt. That is so obvious it makes me want to say "duh"...;) Sure--it's got the same title as the old PS4 game--but I'll wager it is far different. It would have to be to make a decent property in 2020. As far as people being upset that this is an aRPG instead of an RPG...that's what the game description says on the Gog store page--it's says it's an "action RPG"--ARPG or aRPG, take your pick. Last, It's for certain there are millions of PC game players who never heard of the title three years ago or at any time at all...;) I'm one of them.
Keith_I2: I'm rather envious of so many gamers actually playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I downloaded off line files from GOG and installed it. No matter what I try, it will not even start when I double click the desktop icon. Several posts at steam have the same problem. They say this happened after patch 1.08. I notice the included GOG patch is 1.085 ? Guess I have a long wait for another patch to enable startup of the game.
Reverting to an earlier patch version in Galaxy is easy-peasy. You should do that and see if it solves your problem.Post edited December 13, 2020 by waltc

Lol...people bought it at that price, with less content and uglier graphics on PS4.
Why wouldn't it be worth $50 ? It's pretty good value for one of the best recent AAA games, imo.
If you can't afford it, then wait for a sale.
But stop trying to bring game prices down because you don't have money, that's on you.
Developers need to eat, too.
Ultimately, a game is worth what you deem it worth. If it's too expensive for the enjoyment you'll get, just skip it.
Also, movies are usually 2 hours long and cost $20 on Bluray. You'll get much more entertainment from this than from a movie.

I've been enjoying the hell out of it. For the type of game it is, it's very good, IMO. To me it's well worth the 60 bucks (CDN) I paid for it.Why wouldn't it be worth $50 ? It's pretty good value for one of the best recent AAA games, imo.
