I have windows 10 64bit. When I am on my limited Windows account and I launch Homeworld Remastered from Gog 2.0, I can hear the launcher ambient sounds but nothing comes up.

When I log off the sound stays, even tho no other profile is logged in. I have to log in as an administrator to cancel the program with task manager.

If I run it from my admin account, all is well. I set up the launcher in my GoG folder to run as administrator, but now it won't launch it all. It never asks for a password.

Does anyone else have this issue? I am wondering how it runs in the background when everyone is logged off. I am also wondering how I can run it without logging in my admin account, which I only use for installs.

You can launch the games by creating shortcuts on your desktop:

Right click on the desktop - New - Shortcut and put in the following line for Homeworld 1 Remastered:

"C:\GogGames\Homeworld Remastered Collection\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe" -dlccampaign HW1Campaign.big -campaign HomeworldClassic -moviepath DataHW1Campaign

for Homeworld 2 Remastered:

"C:\GogGames\Homeworld Remastered Collection\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe" -dlccampaign HW2Campaign.big -campaign Ascension -moviepath DataHW2Campaign

for Multiplayer:

"C:\GogGames\Homeworld Remastered Collection\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe"

don't forget the quotation marks.
The bold text is just an example. You have to put in the path where you installed the games.

Now you can launch the games without admin rights.

edit: don't know what's going on with the forum but there is only one blank sign between HomeworldRM.exe" and -dlccampaign. If you copy and paste the line, it will be correct.

I am having the exact problem. The shortcuts listed work, but why not through GOG Galaxy? I installed the game to a path that does not need admin rights.

I'm not using Galaxy but i guess launching the game through it will start the Homeworld Remastered Launcher. The Launcher is not working without admin rights for whatever reason.
Did a little more digging. If I run Homeworld Remastered\HWLauncher\Launcher.exe direct it works fine.

Tried this right now. You're right, but only if you want to run the games in english. Starting the Launcher.exe directly, forces the games to run in english only. I'm using the shortcuts with an additional language command to play in german.

For example: "C:\GogGames\Homeworld Remastered Collection\HomeworldRM\Bin\Release\HomeworldRM.exe" -locale German -dlccampaign HW1Campaign.big -campaign HomeworldClassic -moviepath DataHW1Campaign

I have the exact same issue. Sucks to have to use a work-around. Wish GOG would fix it.
