if you launch the game by default nglide makes the window size 1440x1080 (nglideconfig.exe) which is cool. But the game is blurry and poorly upscaled. Which is not cool.
Usually if you play an old game in 1440x1080, then it looks just as definitive as 1920x1080 (it just has black bars on the left and right so the screen is 4:3).
1440x1080 is something that took me 30 years to realize is amazing.
trust me you want to play all old games in 1440x1080. I call it the 1080p for old games. 1440x1080 is 4:3 which old games NEED or else they look stretched and awful. oh and NEVER choose 1280x1024 its a historical blunder. 1280x960 is what they meant to use. 1280x1024 is actually 5:4 so no game on earth will look correct in 1280x1024. (Even if you had a 1280x1024 monitor, and a 1280x1024 game. You still would be looking at something slightly warped because the games are all designed for 4:3)
anyways, dgvoodoo2 can actually upscale this game to 1440x1080 and it looks 10x better
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiSGPTdmc1k why doesnt gog use dgvoodoo2? The text looks worse with integer scaling, but the real pixels are 1000x more important.
integer scaling is truly 100% lossless. It looks like i selected 1440x1080 right in the games video options. But nope that video is only 800x600
