Loved Heroes II back in the day and played it religiously. Next computer and only 8-bit MIDI worked....
Heard the sound issue was fixed and I'm thinking of buying it one last time but $10 is alot for such an old game. I know that Ubisoft decides the price but it should have been lowered by now.
So will it be lowered soon or will it be included in some holiday sale?
Will it be in a promo? Maybe
Price reduction? Judging by HoMM1's price (=9.99$), I think you can forget it.

uhhhh 10$ for "such an old game". GOOD games don't have AGE. I think you are in the wrong place my friend if you say 10$ is MUCH for a game you say you LOVE!
Indeed, every Ubisoft title costs $10, so I don't expect the price to drop permanently. It *may* be featured in a promo, but I don't give much chance to it being soon.

While I agree great games don't have an age and it's worth its price (still, seeing you can get every HoMM game for the price is a bit strange), I think you were a little too harsh to Campaigner; you could have conveyed the same information in a much nicer way.
Like all games over 10 years old, I used to love it. But today....it is a bit hard to play since the gamemechanics, hero skillsystem and graphics are outdated and are much better in Heroes V :/ I'll say that two music tracks in Heroes II are masterpieces though! (Grasstheme and Barbarian Castle.)
$10 for a great, old, game like Heroes II is my limit but it's hard to accept when stores sell Heroes V Gold for $10.
And to add to that, my local store has this "pay for 2 games, get 3" in which Heroes V Gold is one of'em. So Heroes V Gold will effectively cost me 3.33 euro and everything will work perfectly! Seems so WRONG that I can get Heroes V for 3.33 euro while Heroes II goes for 8 euro.
I'm also not sure if the 16-bit Stereo with Opera works perfectly....

Again, a new game with better graphics don't make it a better game than an old game. You like heroes V, buy it for 5 euros or how much you said, want heroes II, this is a VERY fair price for a great game. The quality you get it's the same.
Hehe I thought $10 for this game was a steal XD
Especially when the soundtrack comes with the game! That was what sealed the deal for me. I love the soundtrack from HOMM2 and MM6 so much. During the period these games were released, I remember bringing my MM6 game CD along with me in my discman (programmed to play all tracks except track 1) everywhere I went. ^_^
