Hey!

My HoMM3 keeps crashing and Windows doesn't give me a reason why. I'd like to play through the campaigns without needing to constantly restart the game (all praise the autosave...), and reading some threads here it sounds like the HD mod might be the answer to my problem. However, on the HD mod website is says in red letters: HoMM3 HD is not compatible with The Restoration of Erathia, Armageddon's Blade, Heroes Chronicles!

So my question is twofold:
1) Does anyone have experience with using the HD Mod with the Complete version and playing the campaigns from TRoE and AB?

2) What other solutions might there be to fix the constant crashing on Win 10 than:
- Enabling Direct Play
- Running in 98/ME compatibility mode

The HD mod only supports The Shadow of Death patched to v3.2 and the Complete version (v4.0), plus the Horn of the Abyss mod. Complete is actually a glorified Shadow of Death with RoE and AB content "fused" into it, and they both run without issue with the HD mod.

Your error may be a result of a faulty installation. Remove the game and all residual files, and install it again, this time by running the installer as administrator if you're using the classic installers, or by running Galaxy as administrator if you're using that. Then, run the game as admin as well.

I had the exact same issue, you just need to replace ce ifc20.dll by this one : http://fr.dllyes.com/ifc20-dll/
the dll provided in the HD patch seems outdated :)
