We have uploaded an update for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 that address a few niggling issues that preventd the game from being shown in all of its glory.

Here's a change log:

-fixed castle tower bug
(thanks go out to Onox for pointing these out :D)

-fixed missing CD issue on some systems.

Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns :D.

Enjoy! :D

EDIT: Please note, this patch is intended for version 2.0.0.16

Zoidberg: Patch returns me an error when I try to apply it: wrong version.
I can fix it in the morning. I apologise for the inconvenience. Or you could download build .16 if you don't want to wait.
Slight update:

I looked through files and I think it's better to leave the patch as it is.
The difference between build 15 and 16 lies in video.vid archive. Including this change in patch would increase its size up to 600 mb. So it's better to download new build anyway.

JamesBond007: Unfortunately, the presence of Armorer bug in Heroes Chronicles needs further research.
I'll try to hunt it down in my free time, but can't give any ETA.

SkeleTony: I am very happy that GOG is still working on the game but the most troublesome, annoying issue is still running Heroes 3 on systems with multi-core processors. I know there is a piece of software that can be used to fix this issue but there are no real instructions for doing so and trying to figure out how to do so is such a pain that I think most of us just play with the sound off to avoid the crashes (the crash occurs on systems with multi-core or hyper-threaded processors if the sound or music is not turned completely off in the settings).
I received no reports on that, so contacting our Support and describing the issue would be most helpful.
Unless you are referring to setting the game to run with single-core affinity, which v2 installers already do.

Artki: Is that issue dealt with on Heroes Chronicles as well?
I checked and apparently not. It will be added in next build, which I hope will be out shortly.

gscotti: Anyone?
I would download the latest installer so that you can make use of the patch as it won't work on the older version.

Vatiel: So apparently patch is removed from download. Question is: on purpose or not.
Installer version is 2.0.0.16 as it was before, patch was updating it to 2.0.1.17.
It should be showing back up any minute now. Sorry about that.

mgol: It's been some time now; could you release the standalone 2.0.1 installer so that I don't always have to download & install both files on new machines?
If time permits, then yes :)

asikainl: I cant find this option under installer´s options - where is it?
It's automatic during installation. You don't have to set it manually.

JudasIscariot: EDIT: Please note, this patch is intended for version 2.0.0.16

giles: I just downloaded and installed using the 2.0.0.16 installer and the patch tells me:

"This patch does not support your version of the game please download a new installer"

What can interfere with its version detection?
Was this a clean install or did you install 2.0.0.16 over a previous version of HoMM III?

giles: This was a clean install. The last time I played HoMM III was on an older computer.
Hmmm not sure what's going on, then. Can you send us a support ticket with that error message? Thanks :)
