How do i get heroes of might and magic 3 HD to work on my macbook pro? if anyone knows how to get it up and running, that would be awesome, thanks in advance.

Here's what I tried:
1. Download the offline installer and data file from gog.com
2. Download and install www.playonmac. com /en/]PlayOnMac[/url]
3. Run PlayOnMac and install Heroes III Complete (not the HD version)
4. Download the sites.google. com /site/heroes3hd/eng/download]HD mod[/url]
5. In PlayOnMac, install the HD mod. Heroes III was installed to "C:\GOG Games\HoMM 3 Complete", so if it can't find something in Program Files make sure to change the path.

Sadly, then when I launch it, it says it encountered an error has to close. The non-HD version works fine, though (stop after step 3 for that).

I have HOMM3 with the HD mod running on my MacBook Pro. I installed it a couple of years ago but it still works.

First I installed PlayOnMac onto my MacBook Pro

I believe I then installed "Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete" in PlayOnMac, then afterward installed the HD patch as a new game (there is already an installer profile for it called "Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete (HD)").

Both Heroes 3 and 4 run for my in PlayOnMac without any issues. Hopefully this helps.
