Hello!

I just bought HOMM3 Complete, since I cant find any of my original CD's. I downloaded and installed the game, and it worked fine. But sometimes while playing, I just get thrown out to the desktop. The game is still running, but when I click on the program down on the START line, the screen turns black, like it's going to open, but just falls back to the desktop.

Sometimes I manage to get back into the game after a few attempts, but often I just got to close the game. This is very irritating while me and my friends are playing multiplayer on a LAN.

Anybody know this problem and how to fix it?

Try this: Start the game, open the windows task manager, right click the Heroes 3 Task and set affinity to only CPU 0 (uncheck all CPUs but CPU 0). This has to be done every time you run the game.
If this procedure fixes the crashes you might want to try to permanently patch HOMM3 to only use the first CPU core with the imagecfg tool from here http://www.robpol86.com/index.php/ImageCFG.

Not working for me I guess... I will just go virtualbox it.
