So June 2017... Is the game DEAD!?... No updates about book 2?!
I still have faith (although dwindling fast) but it is worrying that there has been no word from the dev(s) since the beginning of December 2016 about this. I had thought that they were on the verge of releasing a closed beta but guess I was wrong.

They are still working on it.

That's great news - thanks for passing it on :)

It's good news but maybe they should also address their GoG users too...

I quite agree but unfortunately quite a few devs that release games here don't bother themselves to have a presence on the GOG forums :( The sad thing is that they're quick to take our money though...
Finally some news about book 2.

"Additionally, owners of the original Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms will no doubt remember that they were promised ‘Book 2’ free of charge. Kalypso Media and Games Farm are happy to confirm that they will uphold their promise to reward these long-time fans – with all owners of the Steam and GOG versions of Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms eligible to receive Shadows: Awakening as an update to their existing game, completely free of charge."

This is really nice. I bought this game 2 years ago and in the last time I thought that we'll never see Book 2 for free. I'm glad that I didn't play the game until now because of possible savegame incompatibility with Book 2. So I will play it next year.

It's well worth a play through now as I think Book 2 is going to make quite a few changes. I really enjoyed the game, in fact I've now played through it twice and really had a blast both times :)

This is super good news. Was just checking this forum because I hadn't been in here in a while. I am excited!

I got about a third through the first one, maybe slightly more, and the difficulty started getting super spikey. Either really hard, or really easy, no in between. I think I'm going to wait for the re-release to play through it again, this time completing it :D
