I understand the premise. You're an officer of the law and you're investigating a series of interviews that involve a widow
who's husband has been murdered.
To do this you are using an outdated computer to search for clips using keywords that will give you the top five searches of the keyword used. You watch the video's in order to piece things together and discover new keywords to search etc.

Pretty easy to understand. What I don't understand is the motivation for doing this. In other words is there a resolution here? Do you either rule her out as a suspect or arrest her in the end? Is that a choice we're given in the game? Is there and end game resolution at all or is everything left ambiguous? Is there a point to all of this or is it another esoteric"Art" piece?

I'm not asking because I want to knock the game. I'm asking because I'm interested in it. If it's a game with an actual ending to the story I'll most likely buy it.

from what I've seen so far you can very much tell what happened and who did it (and it's really good). I'm still not sure whether there is an actual "end" though, or whether you just can keep watching clips until you run out.

EDIT: There is an actual end, and if you wait until the credits have rolled you'll get a special extra helping to get the segments you might have missed. All in all it's a fantastic game!

There are two answers:

1. The game comes to an end when you formulate a theory and decide to stop watching videos and quit. Depending on when you stumble upon certain rather revealing videos, this may happen sooner rather than later.

2. After a few hours (or perhaps triggered by a certain video, I didn't notice), a 'chat programme' button pops up, and 'SB' asks you if you're done yet. You can reply by either typing 'no' (and continue the game), or 'yes' (in which case you'll get one or two sentences from SB which give a sort of resolution to what you're doing). If you type 'yes' and watch the credits, though, you can still go back and continue from the main screen, in case you want to poke around some more.

The game won't test you on your theories or confirm/deny anything, really (although 'SB's last words to you could be argued either way, I suppose). But I'm a stickler for story in games, and I felt very happy with the theory and resolution I came to. I don't think many people will feel cheated in this respect.

It actually bothers me, that even people, who claim they have played the game (see some reviews), claim they play an officer/to try to solve a crime from long ago. That is completely wrong. And that (wrongness) is important, because who "you" are is an important part of the story.

And concerning an end game:

After you watch "important videos" there is the sound of police sirens. I'm assuming, that (watching enough/all of those to solve the mystery) might trigger this "chat" button.

Yeah I'm also annoyed with the mislead on the reviews.

Spoiling is bad, and wrong information spoiling is also bad.
