domvsalex: Hey, Dom here from Ninja Theory. If you own or buy Hellblade on GOG you will indeed get the VR Edition for free.
Yes! I am so excited for this.
Thank You GOG for giving us the existing owners of the game the VR version for free!!! :)

VR version is working great - was playing last night with my Oculus Rift for about 2 hours ... even i don't like to play with a gamepad, it works the best with this VR game. Looks like the VR realization and the controls were really thought-out to give you a good experience without causing nausea ... great job , Ninja Theory !

How does this VR version work?

Do I have to run it through Steam or GOG with virtual desk?

I have an HTC VIve and I run pretty much everything through Steam and Vive Port. I would love to purchase this VR game here but I don't want a complex start up. Any information would be great.

Thank you.

I have a Vive too. All you need to do is launch Steam VR and then launch Hellblade VR. No need to launch Steam and then Steam VR. You'll need a controller as the Vive wands don't work with this game. Enjoy.

I can´t run the Vr-Version without SteamVR?
So Hellblade-VR is not a standalone on GoG ?

It´s is annyoing because i don´t want running Steam besided of Galaxy-Launcher.

How to configure that Galaxy doen´t start SteamVR too ? And what will users do if them haven´t installed Steam on their PCs ?

Quite late reply here but... No games access VR hardware diectly. Like a GPU the game access an API that access the drivers that access the hardware. For some VR hardware (HTC Vive, Valve Index, Varjo Aero, etc) SteamVR is the API they use to access the hardware so you need it. But you can run SteamVR without Steam. You can access a computer that have Steam installed, install SteamVR then copy the SteamVR forder to the computer you want to use it and start it using vrstartup.exe. But you need the drivers too and for Vive (my headset) it will try to install Steam during setup. So maybe just install Steam, SteamVR, do your VR setup and after everything is running properly copy/move the SteamVR folder then uninstall Steam.
With Oculus Quest 2, the Quest controllers will not work and I must use a gamepad?
