I love this game, I adore this game. I liked Senua that much I tried to find more about her on internet. After many days of searching I found some small article that she might be real, that she actually existed.
That was enough for me, I contacted my university and ask them to find me a specialist in Celt culture.
A week later, I got a call from professor who specialized Celt culture he has phD in that subject and he wrote many books about them. I asked him if we could meet, subject is very long I didn`t want to talk about it over the cellphone.
We met and I told him my problem, I showed him the game and mentioned Senua to him.
That conversion I will remember as long as I am alive, how much this man knew about their culture, in what part of human history they live, how they lived, what was their religion back then and sedra.
To cut the story short yes, he knew about Senua, he told me Senua was a Saint, and that now historians know that Celts worshiped her and she was very important because she was protector of a family so every Celt family had her statue on the table they would light the candles and prey to her to protect their children.
But at some point of history she was forgotten, they just stopped worshiping her. There aren`t any clues or written documents about her. Back then historians didn`t write much that came much later in Greek and Roman culture.
What we also know about Senua is that Celts didn`t live in north Europe or England, they migrated there much, much later under constant attacks of the german tribes. They lived in south Europe between Italy and Greece. Celts were mostly fishermen, and good in agriculture, so for them most important was to find rivers, lakes so they could make settlement. Celts were also travelling people, they would make big settlement with lot of people, culture, religion and they would live at some point.
We know this because we have archeologic remnants of their culture.
Sadly but Senua probably never met Vikings or Northmen nor Celts did. They lived in different part of European history.
Celts are considered as one of the oldest nations, we are talking about very old period of civilization Bronze and stone age 650-1000 years before the Crist.
That`s everything I dig about Senua not much, but still at least I know she existed and that she was so important part of their culture.
