Okay so i have not played the game in a month, and i come back to this odd issue:

Updating the game breaks the saves. You'll have to either roll the game back to a previous version from GOG Galaxy or just recover your progress by picking the level you were last at via New Game - Testing Hub

thank you that dev bit i did not know about so i am using more up to date version and moving via suggested method.
