When I played this game (non GOG version) last, it had an update that eliminated spies and just had funding increases to alter espionage chances. What was that update and where can I get it for the GOG version.

You're referring to patch 1.3 for Armageddon which is available here.

The same spy-free system is used in Darkest Hour game
