If someone can please help me, this is my first time using GOG to buy games. I recently bought Hearts of Iron 3 during the sale and downloaded it with relative ease, but when I try to open the installer it gives my an error saying that "Unable to execute file in the temporary directory, Setup aborted. Error 5: Access is denied."

I tried running it in administrator mode to no avail. I looked up solutions on Microsoft in case it was a problem with my computer, still no solution.
Even tried downloading it and installing through GOG Galaxy and later the GOG Downloader, still can't install it.

Am I the only one who is experiencing this error? I haven't found any sources experiencing this error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't solve your problem, unfortunately, but I can tell you that I bought HoI3 and the HoI3 DLC pack a couple of days ago, and I've installed them (in XP) without any problems.

I guess maybe that's slightly helpful for you. At least you know the installer should be working.

I hope you get it working. GOG.com is usually pretty good about fixing things like this, so you should submit a support ticket if you haven't done that already.

You picked an interesting time to buy your first GOG.com game. It's a new release here, and I notice the Paradox forum is undergoing a major reconstruction too. But don't give up!

Your AV/Security software is interfering. Disable it during the install.

Access violation or MoveFile failed errors

I bought HoI 3 , but when I beginig to install game system - galaxy - says game is not supported, and dropping me out from installation
I dont know what to do. I cannt find solution for this problem
I cannot to say about it to the GOG support

As of right now HoI 3 is not installable via Galaxy, please download the offline installer for the game and install it that way :) We're working on fixing this very issue with HoI 3 :)

How do you get galaxy to recognize that you have HOI III installed and working? Galaxy seems to think its not compatible with my system but I have HOI III installed and running fine... just can't get it to show installed on galaxy even if i point it to the directory...

This is fixed now. You can import the game into Galaxy and all should be well :)
