Hi all,

Hard West is running pretty well on my Linux Mint 19.3 system. Unfortunately it is annoying that the game drops configuration files in the user directory in "Documents". In an non-english environment (like my german one) it shouldn't be saved there because normally no directory with that name exists.

Has anybody a hint how to fix that? Is that a known 'bug'?

Thanks in advance!

I hate games that put anything in Windows-like document locations. What I normally do for games like this is set HOME to something else. It still places the files in $HOME/Documents, but setting HOME=$HOME/.config at least hides it from me.
I havent' verified it works with this game yet, though. Mainly because I haven't really played it, and probably won't for a long time, if at all.

I completely agree with you. Saving in $HOME is a really bad style. Thanks for this simple but great workaround - it works pretty well with Hard West!
