Hi,

I hate to be the herald of bad news again, but the legal problems with Guilty Gear games for the PC not only persist, but escalated. Jus as with GG Reload X2 earlier, per request from Fun Box, we are sadly forced to remove Guilty Gear Isuka from active sales as of today, 4:00PM GMT.

Hopefully, we'll be able to re-introduce Guilty Gear X2 Reload and Guilty Gear Isuka to GOG.com catalog as soon, as the legal issues with the series are resolved.

If you have purchased the games earlier, you'll still be able to download the files off your virtual shelf.

Again, we're very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.
Thank you for the update, and let's hope things can be worked out soon.

It's such a shame these things have to happen, as someone working in the publishing industry (books), I can say legal issues are, more often than not, a huge pain in the butt.

And before people start ranting and oddly blaming GOG, I'd like to add the Guilty Gear games are being pulled off from every digital store they were being sold on. It's a matter that's way beyond GOG's control.
GOG ought to put up a quick sale page for the game thats about to be removed....

They do it when they can. GOG doesn't actually have advance warning on legal problems.
Fair enuf. At least potential buyers some sort of warning at least :D
Good bye DRM-free Guilty Gear games. We will miss ya. ;_;

Wait, Steam appears to still be selling them...
Strange, I still see it in the catalog.
Then people should grab it while they can!

Are you sure you're seeing the games in the catalog, or in your personal library? Because neither of them shows up in the catalog when I browse for them. As for our personal libraries, GOG usually lets people who bought the games keep them even when they're pulled off from the store, so you'll still be able to access your Guilty Gear titles over there.

As for Steam, they removed X2 #Reload (I'm not even sure they sold that one, but if they did, it's not showing any more), but they still seem to be selling Isuka. The same happened with the Fallouts, they kept selling them for a few weeks after GOG pulled them off. GOG has to remove titles right away, but apparently Steam is above the law, or something, because they always seem to manage getting away with keeping titles they were forced to remove for a bit longer than other online distributors.

Well, 10 hours ago (when I made the post), I was indeed seeing the game in the catalog. And no, I don't own the game here, I already have it on retail.

Nope, Steam never sold X2 #Reload. Isuka was only very recently put on the storefront around February.

This is all really strange, though... hopefully the GG games can be sold on both GOG and Steam together once all of this legal mess is sorted away.

Sad story again.
What? This might be the best 2d fighting franchise made and it is being swept further under the rug by lawyers? Ugh.
And yet DotEmu still has it. Seriously, why is it that when GoG is forced to take something down because of some licensing dispute, I can almost always find the game in question untouched at DotEmu?
