Maybe something which has never being made for an h&s, and it is needed for hybrid toons:

At first I had mad a character who was supposed to fight both with crossbow and dualwield blades,
but I was fed up switching, moreover that it was not an easy build to keep it competitive.

But, at least, please devs add an autoswitch, it should work like that:
The autoswitching would be an option which switch for the distance of monster attacked.
It should have two values, one for each set of weapon:
. if I'm using close weapon: if I don't want to run too far, it switches to ranged weapons (I can decide to run a bit instead of taking crossbow).
. if I'm using range weapon: if the target is about to be in close range of my other weapon, it switches.
Problems with that idea. Firstly, switching gets delayed until an animation is finished which can sometimes take a short while, unlike in TQIT where switching immediately is possible. Also if you have auras/buffs from components on your weapons those disappear when you switch so auto switching would leave you wondering what the heck was going on all the time with those. They'd be on/off like flashing lights and you'd have to keep reapplying them all the time.

Not a big pb: then the distance for switching is to be changed:
To switch to a close weapon, we must not wait being close with range weapon, so the distance of switching will be farther than with immediate switch.
To switch to a range weapon, I think it doesn't change the decided distance.

if you have auras/buffs from components on your weapons those disappear when you switch. you'd have to keep reapplying them all the time.
So, here is work for the devs.

No, devs want it to be that auras/buffs disappear when you swtich stuff around. It used to be the case that they wouldn't disappear if you switched, but they deliberately changed it so now they do.
