I REALLY wanted to support the developer, but this release is akin to the Arkham Knight PC release (for a much more niche audience, obviously). I've never requested a refund from GOG before, and after reading through their
30-day money back guarantee, I realize that they're not very likely to give me my money back due to the bugs in this game. Just wanted to see if my mistrust is misplaced and if anyone else has had success.

Don't get me wrong, I WILL re-purchase the game, IF they fix it. Arkham Knight taught me to never pre-order again, but after being burned twice I think I'm going to avoid launch purchases as well.

This games was a little buggy at launch, but now - after multiple patches with tons of fixes and a couple of features - it is actually a pretty solid port, pretty much the best version of the game. I'd understand wanting a refund at launch because of those bugs, but there is no reason for it now.

Perhaps no reason for you, but for me, I have two issues;

1) Occasional crashes are a part of any poor port, but in a JRPG it's a cardinal sin due to the way the game saves.

2)Zero support for the gamepad within gamestream. I purchase most of my console-esque games for this setup in mind. As of 1.03 I STILL cannot play it via Gamestream.
Four days, no response from GOG (I submitted the support request the day of or a day before I originally posted here). Just fabulous.
Got my response from GOG. Turns out, they don't actually honor the 30-day money back guarantee. Now, I read the policy and understand that they will try to troubleshoot the issue first. However, their troubleshooting was, "reinstall the game, and if it doesn't work, bug GungHo and nVidia." As for a refund, the most they'll do is store credit.

I replied with how I felt about that, and that I'd be willing to go through actual troubleshooting steps if they provide them. However, if no response or an inadequate response, I'm issuing a chargeback on my credit card. I will also cease purchasing games from GOG due to the lack of a real refund policy.

Steam has a 2 hour refund window for games you purchase and play. No store credit, nothing after that. Ever, at all.

Good luck with that!

I'm sorry to hear that the Grandia II port is giving you trouble. I can relate as I've had the game crash unexpectedly a few times -- even after the latest patch.

However, if you've already downloaded the game, it seems pretty unlikely that you'll receive any kind of refund for your purchase. GOG may have a 30 day return policy, but with a stand-alone installer there is simply no way they can bar you from access to the game once its been on your hard drive. Unfortunate as the case may be, it is just not in the company's interest to operate that way.

I might suggest you contact the developer directly to see if they can help resolve your particular crash issues or implement gamestream functionality in a future update.

Have you downloaded the latest update for Grandia II?
Hi guys, the issue is now resolved. I made a separate post in the General discussion, which caught the attention of someone/ I worked it out with a GoG support rep and a refund has been issued as per an email this morning.

Good for you. I've never had anything but the best experience with gog.com support.

Did try Steam support once when they sold me a game that I couldn't even run, basically was told too bad so sad and go fuck myself.
