I opened the GOTHIC.INI to set the resolution manually to 1680x1050, and the game launches and plays fine.
But after I close it, if I open the ini again it's been reset to 640x480, and indeed that's what it will launch as.
Now, honestly I have no problem resetting it manually every time if that's what I needs to do. But is there something I can do? Has anyone else tried manually setting to a non-standard resolution only to have the game reset it?

I'm not sure (and since I don't know what the hell I'm talking about I probably shouldn't post but I just can't help myself LOL) but since the game has in-game selections for resolution under the Settings tab, I'm guessing if you try to use a resolution that's not one of the selections on the in-game menu that you probably will have to edit Gothic.INI each time. I'm thinking that the only way it "sticks" if it's one of the selections that you can choose in-game.
